Trip to Kansas City

So our trip this past weekend to Kansas was a lot of fun. We woke the girls up at 3 am and drove down to Kansas City. Chelsea slept the whole way, Natalie fell asleep about and hour into the trip. We got to the hotel where Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Nick were staying and got the camera out for the surprise, and knocked on the door, a couple minutes later some poor middle aged man opens up. We had the wrong Hotel. They were at American Family Inn, and we went to American Inn. That kinda put a little damper on our plans. We turned right instead of left , so we got back in the car and 2 minutes later we were at the right hotel.

Once we got there we spent time talking and letting the girls play. After warming up Natalie enjoyed playing with Uncle Nick. Chelsea played with Grandma and a little wooden bumble bee.

After spending a few hours with them in the Hotel we went out for brunch. We went to Steak n' Shake. All I can say is YUM! The shakes were the best I have ever tasted. Too bad there are no Steak n' Shakes around here. After Steak n' Shake we spent quite awhile looking for a UPS store. After we finally found it and got the boxes they needed, we headed back to the hotel to pack up. There we said our "good-byes", for three weeks any way.

After they headed to the Airport we headed to down-town Kansas City. We took the girls to the Hallmark visitor center. We had fun learning about the history of Hallmark. We then took the girls next door to a place called Kaleidoscope. It is a huge room filled with crafts for kids to do. Natalie had fun coloring, she even made her own puzzle.

After the Hallmark Center we went out to eat at Jack Stack BBQ. It was really good. The girls were well behaved for the most part. This trip has definitely taught us what to do and what not to do when we go on our 13 hour road trip to Utah.

Here are a few pictures of our trip to Kansas City.
